US/UK duo that have been active since 2005 or thereabouts, indie rock of some kind flirting with progressive rock - or vice versa. Kind of an art flavored amalgam of Beatles and REM, flavored with some vintage organ and keyboards resulting in a sound pretty close to what I'd describe as art pop. Borderline, but might merit an inspection.
They have several albums on Spotify, including the brilliantly titled Inventing Dr. Sutherland and His Traveling Hospital |

Unfortunately the dropbox link to the free album is now expired! These Curious Thoughts on facebook: https://www.facebook.com/thesecuriousthoughts.

Enjoyed it enormously thanks! I think Olav (Windhawk) summed your music up perfectly in his original post since I'm also hearing this as some really excellent and pretty unique sounding indie rock, tinged with with maybe just a hint of prog. Whether the Crossover team will feel there's enough of a prog leaning here to merit inclusion on the site remains to be seen, but this music can hardly be classed as mainstream - that's for sure!
Anyhow, I thought I'd add the promo video for the previous album in here too, since Olav specifically mentioned the wonderful title in his opening post: Edited by yam yam - January 10 2016 at 16:54 |
