I suspect your right, it's a silly move that could ruin the careers of two promising youngsters.

Wow that is...abrupt.
Agreed on all counts, it's ludicrous to drop a driver, especially so early, for one bad race and I'd say you're right, it was probably more politics than anything else. Shame for Kvyat.
But of course good for Verstappen, who is one helluva driver, sucks it had to happen like this though

It's been a good day, guys.  Kyle Busch finally wins in Kansas to get his third of the year and also ties Tony Stewart for the most wins within the JGR organization AND my wife picked up Project Cars for me on PS4 while I'm at work, so I'll have that to play when I get home!

Oh, and Frosty got his first win of the season in Perth in V8SC!  Fantastic racing, btw!

Add to that a pretty epic race in the WEC at Spa yesteday where all 6 manufacturer cars fought for the win, and ran into trouble, with the second string Audi winning. Bodes well for Le Mans in 6 weeks.

^I watched highlights of that on motorsport.com and yeah, that race seemed pretty crazy!  WEC is something I need to get more into.  I've been distracted by V8SC, NASCAR and Indy so far this year. LOL

Good qualifying session with Hamilton on pole, Verstappen 4th and Alonso finally gets a McLaren Honda into Q3.

I had Lewis picked to win this race, and certainly the pole is a good start.

Yeah, as discussed the move is pretty sh*t for Kvyat but great for Max. It's a clear upgrade and he's fast, I think he will be very strong at RBR.

God, how sad that a McLaren getting into Q3 is now shocking newsLOL

And even sadder that Alonso is consistently faster than Button. Cry

I like Alonso, but Button is my dude and I hate to see him getting outpaced.

Swings and roundabouts, Button was the faster of the pair in Russia, he jost bulked in the turn 2 melee and ended up some way behind Alonso.

I mean....can't really be too shocked man, Alonso is I'd say faster than most other drivers LOL
Button is cool and he's better than I originally thought but not really a contest between the two, over the long run.

WOW. So my prediction couldn't have been more wrong.
Guess I didn't expect Nico and Lewis to wipe each other out. LOL
The move to RBR has already proven profitable for Verstappen. I assume he's now the youngest person to win a F1 race.
Kimi is on a pretty solid roll, thus far pretty much even with Vettel.

What a whacky year so far

Amazing race, absolutely did not expect that. Verstappen is now the youngest ever race winner, something I doubt will ever be beaten since you have to be 18 to take part in F1 now, and the most surprising part is that he's never driven this years Red Bull before Friday. He may even get the chance to fight for the win in Monaco as the Red Bulls have excellent traction.

I think Nico is slightly more responsible for the collision, he knew he would be slower as the ERS wasn't deploying through turn 3 and dithered a bit in moving over to defend, Hamilton had to commit to the inside and had nowhere to go, if he'd backed off he probably would hav ebeen hit up the rear like Vettel was in turn 3 in Russia two weeks ago. Still largely a racing incident, I don't think the stewards need to do anything about it.

Great driving from Verstappen, Kimi got pretty close there near the end.

Wow. I suppose that justifies RBR's moves/thoughts.

Sounds like it was a good one.

Indy happened at Indy today. 3rd straight for Pagenaud.
Given how up and down the Indy series is, he HAS to be the favorite for the title now.

Both F1 and NASCAR were great today!  The Mercs take each other out (LOL), helping to actually make the race for 1st interesting for a change!  Great drive by Max to hold off Kimi, although I can't blame Ricciardo for being bitter after the race for his 3 stop strategy versus Max's 2 stop strategy.

And then Matt Kenseth gets first win of the year after holding off a hard charging and hungry Kyle Larson and Chase Elliott at Dover!  Insane pile up on one of the restarts, too, when something broke in JJ's car (he was leading the outside line) and collected EIGHTEEN cars.

Boom.  The Mayor is on the pole for the 100th Indy 500.  Could be an epic comeback if he could win!

I'm trying to think of who would be the best story to win the 100th Indy 500. Tongue
