I bought the Reality Dream Trilogy box set in Piotr's honor. I've been pretty hurt by this news for the last couple of weeks. It's time I honored one of the finest emotional guitar soloist this planet has to offer. Just 41 as well? Gosh that's so young.  I think maybe the band new Pitor was sick or something cause Towards the blue horizon is waaaay to prophetic lyrically to be without prior knowledge of PG's health.

Gosh, nobody saw it coming. Too young, waaaay too young. Again, my heart goes out to his family, friends and loved ones, Piotr will be missed, and, indeed, a very, VERY hard act to follow.

This statement appeared on the band's website on Thursday, March 3rd:
 "
On behalf of the family and our own we would like to thank everyone
for the support and your presence in those difficult moments. Piotr
passed away unexpectedly of natural causes (sudden cardiac arrest) on
Sunday morning (21st February). We have remained with emptiness and open
wounds which need time to heal. For obvious reasons we have decided to
cancel all concerts confirmed for this year. At the same time we would
like to inform you that we are going to carry out this year releases
scheduled for late spring and autumn 2016.
Thank you for your support." |

Ok that is scary.......BTW the new album has really been a great addition to my collection. The whole album has this dark theme, very Anathema like.

O, sh**. I can't believe I'm big fan of Riverside. Their music touched some strings in my soul. I never was so sad about musician death, since Chris Squire(Yes) passed away. This is a huge loss for the band and their fans

I've been a fan of progressive rock for 45 years now, and Riverside were the band of the present century for me. Such exciting, powerful and intelligent albums. This is devastating for us all. RIP Piotr

The world has become a much, much poorer place with his passing. His guitar playing has been one of the highlights in music over the last 10 years. The last section of Reality Dream off Out of Myself is just stunning, and there are many more examples of why he was so special.

I spun all my Riverside records yesterday in order, the magic is so apparent. Still cannot believe he is gone, whatever the reason is the end result is very sad for music.
