My fathers a real PT fan, and i have listened most to Signify and In Absentia. I would NOT describe PT as pop! The only thing reminding me of pop by PT is shesmovedon (I still like it though). And Blackest eyes is just like travelling with a time mach

Great album from the full on Blackest Eyes through to the beautiful Collapse The Light.

I don't know if its a concious decision from Steven Wilson to have PT albums follow the same formula or not, but it seems to me from Stupid Dream through t

I absolutely love this album, especially the wonderfull 'Heartattack in a Lay-by'.

But...

I find the earlier albums more enjoyable and more experimental/modern than this one. I've listened more to Up the Downstair and The Sky moves sidew

Excellent cd. Blackest Eyes, Train, Sound of Musak and Prodigal are my favorites. Although the songs are short, they don't strike me as pop at all; way too diverse, interesting and spacey for pop.

I think that "In Absentia" is an amazing album. Porcupine Tree is influenced by Pink Floyd, but what's the problem with that?

" Heartattack in a lay by" is one of my favourtive songs ever!!! Dark, emotive...

I liked in Absentia, I notice someone calls it "Pop Music" (at least I assume that's what you were talking about) That's a bit harsh I think, the lyrics are a bit dark, and the tracks too long to be pop.

I like the ability Porcupine tree show to

Bringing this thread back, since it's a great album.

However, to those of you who didn't like it, I'd suggest giving their pre-Stupid Dream stuff a go.  Up the Downstair and The Sky Moves Sideways are more psychedelic and progressive.
