The only albums of these I've heard are The Way Up, Aerial, and Nil Novo Sub Sole, and I'll give Kate Bush a vote. I'm surprised that Kate Bush album came out over a decade ago (not disputing it), doesn't seem that long to me.

Don't think of these so much as recommendations, more an indication of my tastes. My actual favourite would be Guapo's Black Oni. Also Koenjihyakkei's Angherr Shisspa, Bondage Fruit's Bondage Fruit VI, Miasma and the Carousel of Headless Horses's Perils and Miriodor's Parade

And then there's Gam's Eiszeit, but the music was recorded in the 70s.

Second Life Syndrome is, in simple English, incredible. One of the best albums ever recorded.

Greg! I didn't realize what a Zeuhl-tête you are! Thanks for the suggestions. I know all of the bands sauf Miasma... but don't know all of these albums well.

Gracias, amigo! I no know Gam or Pantommind--the others I know and . . . considered. Rotvalto should be on my list. Maybe Frances and YNDI HALDA, too. Time for reflection.

^ I really should do a re-listen every few years when it comes to the best of the year lists. I see albums on your lists that aren't on mine and I think they should be so... I might need to reflect as well sometime down the road.

I wish I did keep a list, but I'm very disorganized. I use the PA album lists and then just choose ones I know that I have and like, and then try to remember some others. I miss a lot that way, though, partially since I have many proggy albums not included in PA and a fair number of one not in PA that I consider to be Prog.

Yep, Drew, it's the only category here that I think I could ever called myself a completest with (although I used to get all I could in Canterbury Scene music too). I don't listen to as much Zeuhl as I used to, but still return to it quite frequently. My music collection hasn't grown much over the last few years.

So, Greg, does this mean that you're not exploring the few new "Canterbury" style albums that have been released of late? VIOLETA DE OUTONO, ANTIQUE SEEKING NUNS, SETNA, INNER EAR BRIGADE, MAGIC BUS, SYD ARTHUR, AMOEBA SPLIT, AMPLEDEED, THE WINSTONS, and, most importantly, HOMUNCULUS RES are all very worth your while. I just love seeing/hearing today's youth latching on to a style from the past and trying to make it their own! Check 'em out!

vote to the K.B album, my first exposure via Raff.  Adore that album. Was playing yesterday as I fell into a peaceful 13hr slumber...I love my job... I hate my job.
