Hemispheres! The biggest mis-match on the song polls for some time!

Close to the Edge.

Oh wait, wrong poll.

Supper's Ready.

D'oh. Sorry, my mistake.

Thick as a Brick.

Damn. Never mind.

Octavarium, without a shadow of a doubt. One of the great masterpieces of our time, or of any time.

I'm a fan of Dream Theater, but I can't bring myself to vote against the Rush piece.

I feel like you and I would get along well Tongue.

As someone that has played progressive metal for years, it boggled me how DT never clicked for me. I like Awake, but everything else seems extremely superfluous for me. Seen them live plenty, too. Oh well.

Rush.

Didn't even have to read the song titles.

I have to go with Rush for this one, though Octavarium is the best thing I’ve heard from DT.
As a digression ; there was a DT album with, apparently, a real PITA producer named David Prater. I wonder, surely must be the same David Prater who drummed on Nektar’s Man In The Moon album (1980) ? Decent drummer, whomever.

One of my favorite DT songs but pretty hard to beat that Rush epic.

I have never really liked the Cygnus Book 2 song... too disjointed or whatever. It would have been a harder choice if it had been against 2112, and even then I believe I would still prefer Octavarium.

At least one publicly available bio suggests yes - DP the producer was a "drummer for hire"earlier in his career, also recording with Santana. Various prolific other things too in the nusical arena, though Nektar didn't get a mention...

I like Octavarium, they went downhill more or less after that.

H'm Octavarium - nowhere near Dream Theater's  best epic - V possibly Rush's finest effort - bit like comparing Ant & Dec to the two Ronnies........
