lol oops. Sorry. For whatever reason I thought it was self titled. But yes! That's the one. I quite like it. Came out of left field for me, but once I saw the players I knew I had to get it. Love the atmosphere and the teeth on this one. Clean Feed can be a bit of a hit or miss label for my tastes, but this one is definitely in my top 5 for the label.

 It certainly has teeth - I love it when an improv-heavy record also rocks this hard (not often!). Invidious to single out one musician when everyone was playing out of their skin, but Jamie Saft's organ-mangling on this just destroys. I'm really hoping they get together again and record another album (which I initially thought they might have done when I saw your reference to s/t).

It's true. I'm a big fan of improvised music/projects, but the main problem I have with it is that it often feels too exploratory and that the musicians are almost afraid to go out and 'rock', if you will. I don't see why this needs to be a problem in the improv world, but so it goes. I would probably point to the drumming as my favorite part, but certainly Saft is a highlight. I hope so too...they took the time to name the prohject so that should bode well for something. :p

And np. The clean feed well is deep.
