1. The Waiting Room
2. White Mountain
3. Horizons
4. Twilight Alehouse (Genesis Archive)
5. After the Ordeal
6. Fountain of Salmacis
7. Los Endos
8. ...In That Quiet Earth

EDIT: I edited this playlist and changed the order to put Fountain of Salmacis first, as given below. That gave the beginning a little more punch. The end of the last song, ...In That Quiet Earth, needs to be edited to fade out at the end.

1. The Fountain of Salmacis
2. The Waiting Room
3. White Mountain
4. Horizons
5. Twilight Alehouse (Genesis Archive)
6. After the Ordeal
7. Los Endos
8. ...In That Quiet Earth

The idea was for everyone to post an 8 songs list

These would not be good all together in the same album but they're my favorites from each album.

The Musical Box
The Cinema Show
The Lamia
One For The Vine
Mad Man Moon
Supper's Ready (Live Seconds Out)

These would be better off together in one single album.

The Lamb Lies Down On Broadway (Live Seconds Out)
The Return Of The Giant Hogweed
One For The Vine
Can-Utility and the Coastliners
The Cinema Show
Los Endos

Let me rework this so it looks more like a proper album rather than a chronological list

1. The Musical Box

3. Entangled
4. Stagnation
5. Can Utility and the Coastliners
6. Burning Rope
7. The Cinema Show
8. The Colony of Slippermen

Ahh there it is

I came across this thread for the first time today. I'm a big fan of Genesis in the Peter Gabriel era and I love the idea of picking one favourite track from each of eight albums to make up a compilation album. I'll have to give my old Genesis albums another listen though before deciding on my final choice of songs, so I'll come up with my selections later in the week.
This is going to be so much fun. Smile

@Argo2012:- Looking through your old posts, I noticed you've posted quite a few of these "Make Your Own Album" threads, so I'm very much looking forward to contributing to those album selection threads too in due course. Smile

I'm relatively new here so I have a lot of catching up to do with viewing the fascinating and entertaining "Make Your Own Album" threads. I noticed Keneth Levine and Flower King Crimson have posted threads on the same theme too, including some of my favourite prog artists, such as Mike Oldfield, Yes, King Crimson,  The Moody Blues, Camel & Renaissance, amongst others, so I'm looking forward to putting my own albums together on those threads too. I'm going to make a start on listening to all of my old Genesis albums again tonight, beginning with my favourite Genesis album, "From Genesis To Revelation". That seems like as good a place as any to begin listening. Smile

My Top 5 Genesis albums:-

1. From Genesis to Revelation
2. Selling England by the Pound
3. Trespass
4. Nursery Cryme
5. Foxtrot

Okay, these are my final selections for my ideal Genesis compilation album after much overnight deliberation....

1. White Mountain (Trespass)
2. The Musical Box (Nursery Cryme)
3. Watcher of the Skies (Foxtrot)
4. Firth of Fifth (Selling England by the Pound)
5. The Carpet Crawlers (The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway)
6. Ripples (A Trick of the Tail)
7. One for the Vine (Wind & Wuthering)
8. Follow You Follow Me (And Then There Were Three)

I'd like to have included "The Serpent" from Genesis' first album but I ran out of tracks. Smile
