Obviously epic means how long something can be drawn out. Then its John Cage's As Slow As Possible. Next chord change in 18 months. This reminds me of a series of polls I did all called "Which is the (band) epic?". I believe I did them on Rush, Pink Floyd and Yes.

Supper's Ready is definitely the most epic. However, I think that Close to the Edge is simply the best song on the list.

Easily Thick as a Brick. It's twice as long, the composition and arrangement is absolutely incredible, and in general it's an outstanding album.
