Another Genesis vs Yes poll. Let's see how these two match up with each other.

I love Cinema Show, but (in the lack of "both" option!) Heart of the Sunrise is in the end more interesting and impressive -- and totally free of the sense of over-extension, unlike CS. Amazing dynamics from an intense instrumental approach to one of the most passionate Jon Anderson vocal moments. And I love the emotional lyrics, "lost in the city", etc.

Both great; both among the hallowed in Prog Valhalla.
Father Tiresias by a 12-string guitar chord over the sharp distance of a chunky pluck on a double-wound Rickenbacker 4001. |

Both superb tracks, but the edge for me goes to The Cinema Show.

Yes for me. I'm more into Genesis in general, but Heart of the Sunrise has a lot of what attracted me to prog in the first place. A sort of childish joy of having my mind blown.

I like Heart of the Sunrise a lot and it's probably in my top ten for Yes. However, it goes back and forth a little bit too much (ie too many repeated segments) so for me it's Cinema Show (my third favorite Genesis track behind FoF and SR).

Cinema Show again. With these polls it will seem that I prefer Gensis over Yes.

Heart of the Sunrise is a lovely piece of music, but come on - this is The Cinema Show it's being compared with.
I'd rank The Cinema Show as one of the 10 greatest tracks in all prog.

Love them both, but it's the Genesis song in the end.

The Cinema Show, especially at the Odeon in Nottingham, where you could still see a movie for just £1 many years ago.

'Sunrise has weathered the eons of time more readily than 'Show for me.

Same for me, except for the Genesis bit. HOTS gets my vote.

I love both equally, for very different reasons.
