Just Bulbs but close enough. ;)

Anyway, I also recommend Hoc by Franc Albir. No reviews on here at all despite having 22 ratings. This is really great symph prog.

These were the first I could think of:

Miles Davis - Big Fun (seven reviews) Slightly overlooked back in the day (as its compiled from 1969-1972-sessions and released in 1974), but essential jazz fusion. More psychedelic, indian inspired (with sitar, tamboura, tabla) and perhaps easier to get into than Bitches Brew.

Rhesus O - Rhesus O (four reviews) Warmly radiating zeuhl/jazzrock, much like the sweet jazzsounds featured on the two first Magma albums - sans the vocals.

Flamen Dialis - Symptome Dei (seven reviews) Dark, dense and french "pocket prog symphonies" thick with mellotron. Just read Sean Trane's review. The only review there is.

Pearls Before Swine - The Use of Ashes (six reviews) stunning prog folk. Masterful songwriting, achingly beautiful. Every song is like a timeless classic. Really.

Zanov - three first albums: (8, 2 & 4 reviews) if you like the "classic" sounds of Tangerine Dream and Klaus Schulze here's where you can find Phaedra or Mirage's equal imo. I'd start with his 1976-debut Green Ray.

Umberto: From the Grave & Prophesy of the Black Widow (only one rating each). Infectious Goblin/Fabio Frizzi horror/giallo-grooves.

Toy Matinee's one & only album is very good. Kind of pop ARO with some prog elements.
Only had 2 reviews on the site.

Somewhat. But I enjoyed the heaviness more and the drummer is great.

Okay, then I'll listen to it and particularly be attentive to the drumming.

Rich, knowing we have fairly similar tastes, where would you suggest I start with IO Earth?

probably at the beginning with the self titled debut. Checking this site their first 5 albums have remarkably similar ratings at between 3.87 and 3.94. Uncanny. I do like Solitude a lot , its very soulful and atmospheric. Aura is excellent as well but you can't really go wrong with any of them.
