Maybe I'll buy the new one just for the cover.

You have been following Yes for the past 50 years, but Howe is the only member now who was in the band 50 years ago. Downs was there for a year in 1980. Then Sherwood was in and out for the past 30. But if you consider the current core group as Howe, Downes, Davison, and Sherwood, that's less than 10 years and just 2 albums together. Even for Heaven and Earth. Sherwood was an engineer and backing vocals, not a band member. Downs admits to searching old tapes for ideas, which lead to a bit of controversy on The Quest. Really don't think that this current group has had, or ever will have, a prime to be past. Personally, it's more important to support new artists trying to reach their prime. Just my opinion. I have to admit I was really disappointed by the track "all connected." It's 9 minutes long when it should have been no more than three. Just a really boring track imo.

Yes. Unlike most of the rest of you, Yes has never disappointed me.

Probably eventually but not right away. I haven't listened to it and I'm not enough curious to do so in a short time.

My vote is no. I subscribe to a music streaming service and only buy if there is music that's not on the service or if I really enjoy the album. I also mainly listen to music through streaming for the convenience, but there are favorites that I would want to have on CD. I don't see that happening for this album.

If I set the bar low enough, they don't disappoint me either. |

Hi, I know this may sound kinda bad, but ... even if the lyrics were written by Pete Sinfield, I doubt I would see this. I saw the band at their best (TFTO in LA) and then in what I think was Chris' last tour here near Portland at the Casino ... a nice show, but the singer was so bad that I would not cast him in a Pasolini version of the music or film! He sang fine, but his motions and "show" was all about the oldest theatrical tricks and the most amateuristic acting on stage I have ever seen. I saw high school productions better than that! ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz!

Maybe/probably?
Though I think they have made decent records since the 70s ("Magnification" anyone?), the last few records I've heard have been sedentary. Because I am such a completist, I would most likely buy if I found in the used bin at Rhino or Amoeba for less than $10. What I've heard from Oliver's Yes sounded better than "Heaven and Earth." But that was over 10 years ago!

It's a definite maybe from me.
I bought H&E but never really play it. I listened to The Quest and decided there were better things to spend my money on. I will listen to this latest one and decide then. Not holding out much hope to be honest.

I set the bar pretty low before hearing Open Your Eyes for the first time (especially after reading some of the derogatory comments about the album), so I wasn't disappointed back then either. |

The music is very boring and the voice drives me mad. They have developed a sound and I don’t like it. None of these guys have ever made great interesting music with the exception of Howe. You will never get greatness from this lineup- it’s a machine trying to still make money
