I don't believe I have seen this anywhere in these forums. Echolyn is planning two new releases.

One summer night I called Brett Kull on a whim, and he spoke to me for over an hour like I was an old friend, answering any questions I had and sharing cool meanings behind various songs. (For example, "Headright" is about the movie Bridge to Terabithia) One of my favorite bands, so this is great news.

I'd certainly love to support the Kickstarter, but I don't have much money to spare for it. Here's hoping they get it funded!

Brett Kull has been posting a good bit about the project in this thread (and others) on Progressive Ears if you want to read it. Answers some questions about the kickstarter specifically. I hope it gets funded!

To hear that Echolyn has two new albums coming is awesome. I really love that they're choosing to crowdfund with Kickstarter and, fingers crossed, get fully funded. I can’t wait to see what they’ve been working on.

Just wanted to say thanks for sharing the news of our upcoming two albums (yes, i still say albums ;-).
We have about 13 days left to fund the release. We are around 350 supporters so fay. If we get 1000 we'll be good to go and cover all the expenses. If you have the extra money and want to get the music BEFORE the official release date in March - head over to our Kickstarter page and pre order either the digital downloads of the albums or grab Limited signed CDs of the music. Here's a vid of Chris talking about the project: Thanks Brett

^Nice to hear from you Brett. If this project is not fully funded would you entertain the idea that you could mix/master the releases yourself? I would be extremely happy with something rather than nothing.

Good question. We actually have the albums 95% mixed. Glenn Rosentein and I have been working via a distance format since March, mixing the music. I put the songs together in Pro Tools and placed the elements together based on our arrangements and production. From there I sent the Pro Tools sessions to Glenn in Nashville. We used a program called Session Wire to mix in real time - he from Nashville in his studio, and me in Pennsylvania, "sitting next to him." I'd answer questions, while he dialed the songs in. It took till early October for us to finish what we started back in March.
Now, Chris, Ray and I are flying to Nashville to finalize the mixes in person at Glenn's studio - Skylight Studio – this week. Glenn and I will be mastering the songs as well early next week.
So, back to your question. Everything will be done by next week. If the Kick Starter project does not reach its goal all the folks that helped fund the project will not be charged. It'll be a wash. We will have to figure out another way to pay the bills, fast. The Bills include the recording, mixing, mastering, the artwork, web changes/updates, production of hard copy, and shipping. That's everything. If we can get 1000 people to purchase the CDs and digital downloads on KS all this will be taken care of. If not, we'll figure something else out and try to stay on course with our current release plans. Hope that answers your question. Thanks for asking BWK |

Wanted to share this vid of my band echolyn chatting with Glenn Rosenstein, who produced our album As the World back in 1994 and mixed and mastered our two new albums for the coming new year.
I was going to share this for only backers of our KickStarter campaign but wanted to instead post it – to perhaps get more interest in funding our new albums. We have till November 23rd to make the 1000 supporters! http://https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/selbyviews/echolyn-timesilentradio-ii-and-timesilentradio-vii |

I finally pledged this morning. All this trouble to get the music released... you could say you're going through hell for those who want to buy
(I used this joke on a different forum too, haha)

Hi, Which is really sad, and in many ways speaks for the care and attention of "fans" on the Internet ... like there are not enough Echolyn fans out there anywhere? The thought alone is a scary idea. I, just find this sad ... and hope that things work out ... but 25 years ago, this worked out really well for some other bands, and perhaps that was the time to do it, since ... at the very least ... you knew that the folks that read it were the folks that really mattered to the band ... it's really hard to say this nowadays, with the Internet such a divisive and not caring for many things other than the viable commerciality of things. (Which, btw, tells you how commercial the Internet has become, and folks are affected!!!!!) For the sake of the art form, this really needs to make it, even if it might be considered this or that ... I'm not an avid listener of the band but have heard pretty much all of their work, and I think they deserve the attention and the chance ... but I hate to see it all fall apart, and kill the band ... that would be the harshest reality of the "fans" in the Internet!

Music is not just for listening ... it is for LIVING ... you got to feel it to know what's it about! Not being told!

Sad to see them not making the pledge. Maybe they could split the album releases in half as there are two.
