I'm sure this has already be done, but i was just wondering who everyones favorite bands were. You can also list favorite songs or favorite albums.

Here are mine, in no particular order:

Genesis (everything Peter Gabriel, some of the best music EVER)

Gentle Giant

Jethro Tull (thick as a brick)

Yes

Led Zeppelin (not prog, but they are awesome)

At the moment it would be, favourite album(s) included between brackets:

  1. Pink Floyd (Ummagumma live disc)
  2. Van der Graaf Generator (H to He Who Am The Only One, Pawn Hearts, Godbluff)
  3. Genesis (Selling England By The Pound)
  4. Opeth (Ghost Reveries)
  5. Death (Symbolic)

I know, I know, it's not all prog, but there's life beyond progrock ...

Some other stuff, that didn't get into my top five and certainly isn't prog:

  • The Clash - Sandinista!
  • An Pierlé - Mud Stories
  • Dimmu Borgir - Stormblåst
Human beings were created by water to carry it uphill.

My hopes keep on dipping
And his lips keep on smiling all the time
