Does anyone else think that their singer, and Rob Halford from Judas Priest sound very much alike?

Yes, on occassions
I've pointed this out to friends and they cant hear it. I'm glad someone else can
Its only in certain songs, where he sings with a bit of agression, like in 'Still life' anyone who hasn't noticed the simularity have another listern. When he sings 'Take away the threat of death!'
One example..

I guess you wont be able to hear it. The first time I heard PH singing 'Still Life', Rob Halford was the first comparison I drew.

Being both a Priest and a VDGG fan - I'd say a resounding NO........ I am, however, intrigued, so I shall do a direct comparison this evening....

Peter Hammill has the gravitas of a BBC narrator of Victorian/Edwardian horror stories (See Fall of the House of Usher.) On the other hand,Rob Halford has the gravitas of the Child Catcher from Chitty Chitty Bang Bang. Music snob?..Moi? But yes,I have to agree, there is a similarity

If I were to draw a comparison with Hammill I would have said Bowie sounds vaguely similar....especially the early material of VdGG

I agrree, Hammil sounds like early Bowie, especially Refugees and Out of my book. This one guy at work even mistook VDGG for Bowie when I put TLWCDIWTEO (Haha) on and refugees played. And yes, at my work you are aloud to bring in any cd you want to listen to....and i usually am the one to do so...and its prog time! The people at work loved Out of my book but were scared sh*tless when after the flood concluded, talk about drastic mood swings!
My good friend who goes to college liked the lyrics I put in my aim away message, "out of my book". She tried asking who they were by but i told her the band would scare her since....(and I mean no offense either cause I looove VDGG), cause they aren't a good starting band for newbies to prog.

Van Der Graaf Generator...Judas Priest?
OH GOD YES, I CAN HEAR IT!!!!!
Does this mean that we can expect a version of A Plague Of Lighthouse-Keepers from the Metalmeisters of Midlands Mayhem?
Hmmm, maybe not...

....People can attempt to imitate his style but never approach the Jimi Hendrix of the Voice.(he is not fond of that by the way)
