GENESIS is highly overrated,

listen to me

i've been watching this site almost for 6/7 months

and say............

i think GENESIS is highly overrated,

okay ' my favourite album is 'selling england by the pound', and the song i like is "cinema show" , "dancing in the moonlit knight" and "firth on fifth"; otherwise it is boaring,

"supper is ready" is super boring;

it is not epic

it is like pieces together

what the hell ; you cant compare that song with "close to the edge" that is masterpiece;

 

phil collins is evil man,

he f**ked the whole "genesis" up

he is real criminal;

I think post-Gabriel Genesis is vastly underrated. 

A Trick of the Tail and Wind and Wuthering are both amazing albums, and ...And Then There Were Three and Duke in my opinion are two good albums that efficiently combine prog and pop influences.  Sure, after that, not so good, but they didnt suck as soon as Gabriel left.

If you don't like GENESIS doesn't means that they are bad, and you shouldn't offend them.

GENESIS is the best prog band in the whole world along with YES and ELP.

We just had one of these Genesis bashing threads closed.

I'll sum up that thread for you, we all agreed that Genesis make complex and difficult to make music even if the indavidual parts are easy to play, its the whole that counts not just the guitar/bass/keys etc. We also agreed that though Peter Gabriel doesnt have the best range or power in his voice he overcomes that with an abilaty to convey a wide range of emotions that few others have matched, beyond these facts its down to personal preference on weather you like it or not, its also been well established that Collins WASNT the sole reason for the change to pop music, it was more to do with Banks and Rutherford.

BTW If you've been lurking around for 6-7 months then you must know that people here get hacked off when a newby starts attacking one of the best loved bands here without any explanation as to why they dont like them.

Genesis may be overrated on this forum (but still great), but poor Phil is
underrated...I mean, it's not like he's Satan, is it? Poor little man.
