If Wakeman wasn't mentioned I would have moved this already. But I can't even understand what it is about. |

When Nixon resigned in 1974 he turned to the press and said what are you guys going to do now you haven't got Richard Nixon to kick around anymore. One of them replied we've still got Tales from Topographic Oceans. Otherwise I'm struggling to find a connection between the two Richards. |

Boooooooo! Tales is my favorite album right now, hopefully for a while too. If Nixon liked prog, I bet he would like Tales. |

I know the Nixon quote, but if I recall he said it after he lost the California gubernatorial election in 1962. Perhaps this tale is an urban myth? |

Sorry for the mystery guys but I just wanted to add a little lightness to the forum.
Rick told me that they originally shot the picture to be published in black and white. The moved the wives to the middle of the isle and Rick walked infront as the picture was taken - but the cover shot in black and white was crap - so they decided to use SEPIA or something, it lightened up the cover but also lightened up the background and no one spotted 'Tricky' Dicky appearing on the cover behind the wives.
Bit of ROCK Trivia
As I said Rick told me as he signed by original copy, showing me the picture which I had not spotted in 30 years of ownership |
