Hell YES!  Randy was really my first inspiration to start playing music.

However, I thought Ozzmosis was a pretty strong album, and it isnt on this poll.  Blizzard is still the best by far.

Blizzard Of Oz ... although Kerslake and Daisley still insist it was a band effort ... and that they got screwed ... I believe them ...

Here's an interview about it with Bob Daisley

http://www.live4metal.com/bobdaisley.htm

"Death to Utopia! Death to faith! Death to love! Death to hope?" thunders the 20th century. "Surrender, you pathetic dreamer.”

"No" replies the unhumbled optimist "You are only the present."

I'd vote for Tribute, but since it's not  there I'll vote for Blizzard of Ozz.

I voted Blizzard!!

The original album was recorded by:

Ozzy Osbourne: vocals

Randy Rhodes: guitars

Don Airey: keyboards

Bob Daisley: bass, backing vocals

Lee Kerslake: drums, percussion

2002 Remstered version:

Ozzy Osbourne: vocals

Randy Rhodes: guitars

Don Airey: keyboards

Rob Trujillo: bass

Mark Bordin: drums, percussion

What was wrong with the original??

I think Sharon decided to re-record the bass and drums so Daisely  and Kerslake wouldn't get paid or something like that.

Yeah, that's what I heard as well.Pretty petty and despicable move on Ozzy and Sharon's part, IMO.

Luckily I got a copy of the original versions of Blizzard and Diary before they went out of print. Not only is the playing on the remasters far inferior to the original release, the actual mix and mastering jobs were _horrible_.

Oh, and I voted Blizzard of Oz

It's 3 out of 4 of those. Flying High Again is on Diary of a Madman.

I thought 'Blizzard Of Oz' would rightly trounce the others, as it sets out Ozzy's stall magnificently. It's Randy Rhoads at his finest too- every song features an incredible solo.

I'd undervalued his other work until recently when I gave 'Bark At The Moon' another spin- I particularly like 'You're No Different' from that album. However, 'Blizzard' is still his best.

The first three are really good, though I voted for "Blizzard..." Randy was one of the greatest losses for rock music (as was, though he played in a different style and context, Stevie Ray Vaughan). Then Ozzy and his band went steadily downhill, IMHO. I really can't stand that guitarist of him - "the king of blacksmiths", as a friend of mine calls him. Wink
