I have some information about them from some old zeuhl articles. Also a couple of press releases with the vinyl. Not much though. Only have that LP as well but what a classic! Would love to track down their couple of singles and old tapes

Thanks for digging up the picture, I knew we had mentioned them before.

I think for the rest of their discography they have 2 singles and maybe one cassette release; so I have gathered from looking around.

Zeuhl article sounds interesting to me Tongue

Written in 1983:

METABOLIST: Oddball outfit who disappeared a couple of years ago. Their strange fusion of punk spirit and the avant-garde brought about an aggressive style of music which was displayed to its fullest potential on their LP, singles and cassette album on their own Dromm Records. Two members of the group have recently re-emerged on an album entitled, simply, 'Max And Malcolm' where the sound is more emotive and electronic.

Ma Cherie..! Mwa mwa! Think there is a only 3 or 4 folks adding bands in this section. Blackie, Joren and avers spring to mind. Utter madness considering the unpaid workload!

Yep I didn't see that one, I think it is probably my fault on this one. When we for started talking about Francois Thollot I got a little mixed up with the similar names (though Jacques is cool as well). I know Zypressen I quite like them, remind me of Lacrymosa (not sure if that is the spelling). Have not heard of One Shot though. The others you suggested before are now on the chart to be voted upon Smile

Your two cents in very valuable, I listened to the album for the first time today and I am in fully agree with you. I was thinking psych or art rock would be better options for the band. I guess we will see what others things.

I would be more than happy for your help (as I think I have already expressed), since you are far more knowledgeable than me on most (if not all) of these bands we are looking at.

Claire I notice you have been listening to the other Cerberus Shoal CD "The Land We Believe In" you liking it as much as the other one? This is there latest CD which was brought out last year.

I also have a split they did with Alvarius B (Sun City Girls) I don't think it is as good as their other material, but if you are a fan of the band it might be worth while checking out.

Oh, I like it VERY much. It seemed much darker, generally of course, in tone than the other one - but that may have been me [my listening mood that is. only listened once so far, and I only really like to judge after a few listens]... I like Chaiming the Knoblessone the best of what I've heard thus far though. [and I would be interested in checking out the split - thanks for the info BV!] One comment/criticism I do have though [much more on CtheK] is regarding the vocals. the woman's very good, but I thought the guy was a bit hokey. like some hs dude playing w/ a mike. it sort of demeaned it a bit i thought - the silliness of it..although, of course, that may have been their intention [adding some lightness to the general darkness mix...] [i'm hypercritical sometimes too ;)]

Concise track-listing of Metabolist here:

http://www.discogs.com/label/Dr%C3%B6mm+Records

Although not mentioned here there was apparently a 'Stagmanaut' cassette as well

Claire,
You are right about Nyl, I just copied without looking like a silly man...I think too that they are not to be in Zeuhl
As for Thollot, another mistake of not looking... (ashamed...)

And you help would be very much appreciated. The thing is that it takes time for all members of the team to vote and so until a band is approved for addition it takes time. But when we do have bands for addition, then from there we can use much help.
You can look here for our list:
http://www.progtology.com/home/progarchives/razchart.xhtml

The cleared bands are what we can use help with.

As for Cerebus Shoal, I have on cd "The Land..." and on mp3's some other albums. I like this band and their sort of naive mood they have in their music. Plus the artwork in their website and booklets is beautiful.
