Is it:David Gilmour

      DAVID GILMOUR

Or

      ROGER WATERS

Or

       NICK MASON

Or

      RICHARD WRIGHT

Or

       SYD BARRETT

I Know that this thread is a bit silly, I was inspired by a similar thread on a Danish Pink Floyd forum in which Gilmour had a remarkable lead, which I personally don't understand, I don’t deny his abilities as a guitarist, but it's difficult to deny that ROGER WATERS is the force to be reckoned with, when talking about Pink Floyd.

I voted Waters. He gave Floyd their edge, their bite, and their agression that made them accessable to non prog fans. He strikes me as a bit of an arsehole to be honest, but I cant deny his talent. The combination of his voice and lyric, and Gilmours guitar playing are the ingredients of classic Floyd.
Ultimately bored by endless ecstasy!

I voted Gilmour because without his sound, they would have never made it out of the 60s....altho I loved Water's pre-Wall work, I found TFC to be a real disappointment.  And I've never liked his solo stuff.. but I do love Gilmour's solo albums...

So again, just matter of taste I guess...

I'll take music over words, any day. Gilmour hands down.

I voted for Richard Wright because I felt bad for the guy.

Too hard actually....I Love Waters, Gilmour and Barrett equally!!

I'd have to say Gilmor, an excellent guitarist and without him they would have never become half of the band they were. Dont get me wrong,  waters and wright are also amazing in thier own respects.( I think waters is the superior lyricist of the band.)

Gilmour gets my vote. Without his balance, PF were far too dominated by one man, to their detriment.

Richard Wright for me - not because I felt sorry for him, just that I happen to love his style

syd is one of my idols. i know its an odd choice but he is just as insane as me! tho i had to go for roger cos i admire the way he put in all the effort to give pink floyd one of the most consistent careers ever! they didnt sell out to pop or continuosly rearrange their line up. roger kept em organised me thinks. and he reli pushed gilmour into songwriting cos gilmour used to rely on roger and during ummagumma, roger start to push him into writing his own songs.

Roger Waters, because he's the creative vein and one heck of a gifted musician that knows nearly everyting about putting decent music together. His lyrics are the finest you can get. As for Gilmore, hes an ok guitar player and thats about it. !
