Topic: Best Priest Album Posted: May 13 2006 at 09:40 |
I was a Priest fanatic up until British Steel so maybe I left some albums out (other option)
I loved Stained Class, British Steel and Wings.
I vote for Sad Wings of Destiny, one of the best metal albums ever made.

I'm not exactly a fan of Judas Priest, but Sad Wings Of Destiny is still one of my favourite albums

"Sad Wings of Destiny" is a masterpiece. Then I'd say "Screaming for Vengeance" and also the underrated "Point of Entry".

although I followed Priest until Britsh Steel , Sad Wings od Destiny is the only album I owned and I played it until the vinyl was transparent > bought the latest re-issue in digipack
I must say that even Sin After Sin or any of the other albums do not come to knee-height of SWOD
BTW SAS comes after SWOD

let's just stay above the moral melee prefer the sink to the gutter keep our sand-castle virtues content to be a doer as well as a thinker, prefer lifting our pen rather than un-sheath our sword

Well, at least you should be glad he included albums as great as TURBO and RAM IT DOWN.
I voted for 'Painkiller'. Simply amazing.

I agree with Ivan - Painkiller for me! But I don't know the other albums well enough to make a final decision.

Hell bent for leather completely slipped my mind, great album, "Delivering the goods" "Before the dawn" etc..
Guess I was too busy defending Queensryche on another thread

Toughest choice ever. But considering how many times I listened to particular album - I'll go for TURBO. Even though it's universally hailed as their worst album. Actually I like all of band's albums. The diversity, catchy songs and greatest heavy metal solos has always benn their strong side, and that's the reason I keep Priest in my Top 5.

IMHO, "Turbo" is not a bad album by any means - it's just different from what Priest were best known for. I always appreciate a band who try to push the envelope and come up with something unexpected, but I suppose the experiment just failed, especially as fans wanted them to do what they had been doing for years.

a sadly incomplete poll...I voted Screaming.
You can add more options if you want, but call it killing Machine please.

Well, I'm not really familiar with Judas Priest
but the only album I do have is Painkiller, and I absolutely love that
one because of the enormous speed. You fart once and the album is over,
while feeling like you've just enjoyed the best fart in a long long
time...
