This Greek psychedelic band released one self titled album in 1976.
They are in PA:
I found this while looking for info in them:
"
The 4 Levels of Existence "The 4 Levels of Existence" official CD reissue of stunning ultra rare Greek psychedelic hard rock collector record. From the mastertapes reissue featuring 10 songs! The label says: "The first ever official CD reissue of an album that many people consider to be the best Greek psychedelic album ever recorded, a belief that would mean that the Four Levels of Existence LP would supercede albums by artists like Axis, Aphrodite’s Child, Socrates, and George Romanos. We’ll let you decide the argument, for of one thing there is no doubt—that this is tremendous hard edged psychedelic/progressive material, originally released in a very small quantity by the private Venus label from 1976. As band leader Athanasios Alatas said: “Through Nick’s musical quest, Mario’s sensitivity, Christos’s madness, and my thoughts, we create many songs, all characterized by a psychedelic music sound, Greek lyrics, and monumental guitar solos.
This carefully documented reissue contains the entire Four Levels of Existence LP (its reissue debut), the only recordings they ever made. A twenty-four page booklet includes historical background on the Greek music scene of the early 1970’s, details of the band’s past written by Alatas, rare photos of the group, as well as lyrics to all the songs in both Greek and English. This CD edition is very strictly limited to 1,000 copies." Track Listing:
" I was wondering if someone here heard this album and can tell me if these commercialy sounding accolades are true and this is truly a unique album.

But if you're already here, why don't you read the first post with my question on it and see whether you know it or not? Thank you for your time. |

Well, while we are here, why not read the first post in this thread and if you know something about the matter asked upon, then you will officially recognized as MoP: Master of Prog
Cheers,

Hey Assaf,
I know this is not going to be of much help, as my knowledge of the band was nil before this thread. But at least it will keep bumping this thread up till somebody with knowledge replies When I was doing some searching. Found this site which give two more sound samples, to give you a little more of an idea. www.aquariusrecords.org/cat/rockpop60spsychgarage.html Also reading the little bio on way side music stating: "Very good (although not as great as hyped) Greek psychedelic album." Hope this helps in the slightest way! |

I think I still have a copy, nothing great late sixties sounding psychedelia with greek influences. If you want something that stands up with time Akritas self titled(though it has no skips between songs, about 7 tracks but you have to play it all the way through to listen or Socrates - Phos has many good moments. Axis and PLJ Band are worth a listen also.
Dimitris Poulikakos' 1976 album may be the best I ever heard from Greece, but its been 20 years since I heard it, I remember it as very good. If you find it over there avestin let me know would love to purchase a copy
