I thought the second was pretty good and I liked the third quite a bit.

You are basically asking me to pick between 3 series of movies that I happen to love.

But nothing........and I mean nothing trumps Star Wars.

EVER.

I'm going to go with the Matrix.  It the most philosophical of the three franchises.  It's so Platonic, it gives it a little extra edge.

LOTR by far.  The movies are great and the books are better.

The Matrix is good, and I like it more than most people I talk to (I am the only one who thought all 3 movies were worthwhile), but it definitely has some seriously weak moments.

I hate Star Wars with an irrational passion.  Everytime i try to watch any of the movies all I can see is a feature length toy commercial.

You're not the only one who liked all 3 Matrix movies. Those movies touched my psyche in a very deep and philosophical way (especially the first one).

I'm also of the belief that if Lucas could ever have let someone with actual directorial skill direct the Star Wars movies, they would have been phenomenal. Lucas is a great producer, and had a fantastic concept, but failed to follow through much of the time. Some of the dialog is so flat and painful, IMO.

LOTR was masterfully done. Almost flawless, IMO.

Star Wars.  I only saw the first Matrix and first LotR (shocking I know) so I can't really comment on those trilogies.

I could never get into the whole Star Wars thing. I've tried to watch these films several times with an open mind and always fall asleep. The Matrix is damn good. But Ill say LOTR by far for me also. I was a huge fan of the books when I was younger and I thought they did a good job adapting it to movies.

Star Wars then The Matrix.  LoTR shouldn't be in this poll IMO.  I wasn't a fan Cry, I tried though.
