Genesis were my favourite band back in the seventies, and remain my favourite even now. (But only during the seven album period you list above).
Every one of those albums deserves a vote, I love them all. And you will probably find SEBTP and Foxtrot come first and second. But for me, it has always been The Lamb. My fave album of all time in fact! (Second would probably be your choice, Nursery Cryme. I love that too!)
But as I said, all of those on your list are immaculate. You have great taste!
(My favourite cover award goes to A Trick Of The Tail.) :)

I haven't heard the other two, but as soon as I have, I'm sure they'll be up in that range.

Can I also say (and I know I'm in a minority here) that I really enjoy And Then There Were Three...!!
I LOVE all the albums from Foxtrot onwards, and while I recognise that there a slight feeling of jadedness about ATTWT, and Hackett is sorely missed, there are some good compositions on there - Undertow, Snowbound, Burning Rope - and if only Mike Rutherford could've played lead guitar a little more convincingly (or they'd employed Steve Howe for an afternoon in the studio) this could have been a great album |

Those seven are definitely my favourites and I chose SEBTP over the others. I do like Then There Were Three, Duke and Abacab as well but I do draw the line at Invisible Touch.

It confuses me how Selling England... has reached the top (though I could say the same for CTTE). It is very good, but a true masterpiece should have no weak songs and should realize it's full potential. SEBTP, however, has a weak song (More Fool Me) and a song that doesn't realize it's full potential (The Battle of Epping Forest, which would have been better if it had fewer lyrics). Foxtrot and Nursery Cryme, however, both lack weak tracks and at least come close to realizing their full potential. SEBTP does get credit for having a great concept. The Lamb... loses points, as all Rock Operas do, both for weak tracks and realizing potential. I'm still waiting for a Rock Opera that is a true ***** masterpiece...

I strongly disagree. The Battle Of Epping Forest is THE song that really shows Genesis' true theatrical potential. What they started with Supper's Ready, is here brought to completion. It is songs like The Battle that truly differs Genesis from the rest of the progrock bunch. A song like Firth of Fifth, for example, is beautiful and well crafted, but could potentially have been made by another band. The Battle Of Epping Forest could only have been made by Gabriel-era Genesis.
The Lamb IS a masterpiece, and there are several other good rock operas as well. If you're still waiting for a good rock opera, perhaps it is time to realize that you simply don't like rock operas, and thus needn't wait any longer?

I cant see in anyway that Foxtrot has 2 stars. I know its opinion, but honestly, you can't be serious. Are you just trying to say stuff that hasnt been said for a while? Back up your opinion. Suppers Ready is f***ing brilliant. That alone deserves 5 stars.

Selling England. A brilliant album, with Genesis at their
creative best. All the members of the band seem to have been pulling in
the same direction. I very much enjoyed The Lamb, A Trick of the Tail, and Wind and Wuthering, but never again did the band scale quite the same heights. Much like Yes with Close to the Edge, they seem too have hit a real creative peak which proved very difficult to attain a second time.

You're not alone. For me, Nursery Cryme is Genesis' all-time best - never get tired of it when I listen. On Foxtrot, only WOTS and SR is worth a listen from time to time (Hackett's acoustic guitar piece is nice too).

Nursery Cryme: weak 7/10
Selling England: overrated 8/10
The Lamb: incoherent at times 8/10
Trick of the tail: good not great 8/10
wind and wuthering: very good 8.5/10
FOXTROT: FLAWLESS, MASTERPIECE 11/10

Hard question for a 70-77 Genesis die-hard like me but I go for Foxtrot, so innovative and captivating, Genesis at their artistci pinnacle and "no fillers, all killers" 
Trespass and Nursery Cryme are good but only a bridge to Foxtrot. My problem with SEBTP is that it has some weaker moments (I Know What I Like and More Fool Me), TLLDOB side four lacks the tension of the other 3 mindblowing sides. ATOTT is good but at some moments allready in the vein of the more polished And Then There Were Three. The only other album that can compete with Foxtrot is W&W, perhaps my favorite Genesis album (wonderful 24-carat symphonic prog) but to be honest, Foxtrot is more adventurous and compelling, in my opinion  |
