i'm 16 years old, and nobody likes the music i listen to... maybe i should've kept listening to pop ...... but then I wouldn't have experienced real music ... so: Knowledge is more important, and trying to persuade them is pretty funny too .. so I don't really regret it

The only problem is that now whenever you hearpop music and such, you can't stand it, and music becomes obsessive, but there's a price for everything nice.

Yah, lol. I'd buy some Pink Floyd like Rob The Plant said cuz they are realy good and lots of people vcan like them fast. I know I do after giving them a chance. BUT PHIL COLLINS IS STILL MY FAV!

I don't think they were that much smarter in older days .... maybe it just worked because there wasn't this stupid music which catches the attention of people because it's so easy to get into ...

It's so hard to convert people, I've been trying for a while, but
people switch off as soon as you metion the word prog, they know
nothing about it and aren't prepared to give it a chance because of the
popular media having turned it into a dirty word, for shame.

I'm not so sure about people getting smart again.
I don't mean to be offensive and i am actually a pretty left wing
person, but your average human being, in all parts of the world, is a
complete idiot, and that is never going to change, so us enlightened
prog fanatics are forever going to be a minority struggling to spread
the word to those less open minded than ourselves.

Won't work on teenagers - My youngest son (10.5) has expressed he likes some of the music I have played in the car....But my Eldest (14.5) - He takes the piss out of my music taste all the time - He always quotes "Porcupine tree" as a farcical example of "un-cool" music, but what do you expect from a lad who openly wants to be a black American gang member when he's a white Englishman* (*uncool - obv), I blame the mass-media and play station games......

Name dropping here - But I was invited (with my mate) to Steve Wilsons House when he was in his first band - Karma. My mate Roj was his contact in the north ! He's alright Steve - entertained us with his Guitar - Mainly Rush and Pink Floyd licks - Sadly lost touch with him shortly after.......
Good night in the pub with him and his keyboard player though......
