Out Of Focus
Munich originating band. Do you like this  early 70's sound with the jazz rock influences? Althuogh the vocals are not the strong side of this band, to say the least, their music more than makes up for it.
I was listening to their albums yesterday and though why not make a mention of them in a thread, but since I already recommended them in the I Recommend thread, why not make a poll that for a change will not invlolve a certain prog-metal band....

So for those who know and love them, which album is your personal favourite? which one makes you lean back with satisfaction and help you escape from everyday hassle?

I really like Wake Up (which was my second album by them), with its raw sound and weird lyrics like God save the queen cried Jesus and See how a white negro flies.
But I find the s/t album to be even better and Four letter Monday Afternoon really shines. I have yet to hear the other two, thuogh.
Those who know me, know I am not a person who likes choosing and voting, but in this case I can make an non-obligating choice. Four Letter Monday Afternoon

I'm listening to their self titled album at the momment Big smile

I love this band. I have their first 2 albums and these guys can rock and jazz even at the same time! Every time I hear those 2 albums I become more and more convinced that they really need to bet more attention. Hopefully this poll would do it.

Oh yeah, my favorite from the 2 I've listened is definetly their Self titled album.

One of my favorite bands at the momment. Thumbs Up

Hightly recommended!

I have gotten around to listening to their first three albums, finally gave their first two a proper listen. But I would have to agree that Four Letter Monday afternoon is the most complete and satisfying release. But my opinion may change with furher listens. Also I have no squabbles with the vocals I actually quite enjoy them they are not stunning in any way but I find them pleasent.

The first band that comes to mind is the German band Dennis. There is a bit of a difference but I couldn't help but recommend this fantastic band since we are talking about German fusion. I think it is the incorparation of the flutes which made me think of them.

Never heard of them. And they are not in PA. You need to suggest them in the New bands suggestion section

Yes I will do sometime, they are somewhat of Krautrock (jazz-fusion) supergroup consisting members from Tomorrow's Gift, Thirsty Moon, Kravetz and Xhol. Very good I can recommend them to anyone. Unforunately there seems to a lot of bands from the German underground forgotten about

Yeah. Some collabs and members are trying to rectify this situation.

From the bands mentioned, I only heard Xhol (Xhol Caravan right?) and heard of Thirsty Moon. Xhol Caravan as I remember was more leaning towards psych but had their share of fusion. What are the others like?

Unforunately the only one I am confident with at the moment is Xhol (which yes is Xhol Caravan), so I will not comment on the others but you will find Thirsty Moon and Tomorrows Gift on the archive here:

www.progarchives.com/Progressive_rock_discography_BAND.asp?band_id=1039

www.progarchives.com/Progressive_rock_discography_BAND.asp?band_id=1085

I rather enjoy Xhol music, my favourite being there last offering Motherf**kers G.M.B.H & Co. KG which has a very Krautrock/bluesy sound to it. There other albums tend towards the Jazzy side with touches of psych (as you said) and I find less joy in these albums.

Yes I know Philippe is working on this and I hope to be able to of help in this department as well. I'm happy to now see both Metabolismus and Zweistein on here. So there is progress being made.

Do you know where we can find a bio for Tomorrows Gift? I hate to see a band without a bio.

Ok this information might be a little more helpful. I just rember jean-jacques Kravetz (one of people in Dennis) would happen to be the Keyboardish for Frumpy - All Will Be Changed (1970). This should be something a little more farmilar with. He was also one of the musicians on the famous '8 Days in April - The Hamburg Scene' album alongside Inga Rumpf who if I remember correctly is the singer for that Frumpy album.
