All I can say is that the video footage before Steve starts singing made me giggly and blush Big smile

Not to mention the shirtless part at the end...

Marillion are my favourite band. I am not gay but when I first saw pictures of Mr. 'H', I thought maybe I should question that. But after being a fan for a while, I began to think that his head was on a long a journey up his own arse so I decided to remain hetrosexual. He is a damn handsome bloke but, my God, does he know it!

It's not exactly the Pet Shop Boys or Erasure. I've seen worse.

I actually think it's a pretty cool video.

To be fair though that is by far the most commercial song from the album (except maybe Cannibal Surf Babes), the rest of the album is much proggier.

I have to agree that the Beatiful video is one of the most homoerotic things I have ever seen. LOL

I am with micky: not sure what you Neo-Proggers see in the whole thing. LOL He's a beautiful singer, but I hope to goodness that Marillion has more Prog than that, or I'll just die. Embarrassed

The shirtless part I didn't mind. Wink

That's a good one E.

Hogarth does sing very well. Not very proggy though. It makes "Kayleigh" sound like "Supper's Ready."

Marillion started to loose the Prog relation when Fish left, but this soong is extreme, not a single Prog note.

And about the video...well, all has been said and it's obvious but it's his choice.

Since the moment when he starts playing with his hair the video is pretty eloquent.

'This Strange Engine', 'The Space', 'Neverland', 'King'.....They may have started diversifying after Fish but they never lost their prog. They did loose a damn fine lyricist but musically, I think they progressed.

I was a fan of Marillion way back when.......... and I know that when H joined the mob that it wasn't just the girls fans who felt a heart flutter, a lot of the men I knew at the time (straight and gay) had a bit of a lust for him...........

Me............well, he's not my cup of tea...........

Actually, "Beautiful" is one of my favorite tracks from the amazing Afraid Of Sunlight. Listen to the message because it's really quite inspiring and probably one from which we all could benefit (as we're on a thread about stereotypes and generalizations).

If you like the message, but still can't stomach "Beautiful", then go listen to "A Few Words For The Dead". Essentially says the same thing, but a bit more progressive.

Honestly, I can't believe a list made up of adults (I'm assuming we're [at least] in the majority) are even discussing this.

<<I am with micky: not sure what you Neo-Proggers see in the whole thing. He's a beautiful singer, but I hope to goodness that Marillion has more Prog than that, or I'll just die.>>

So, you're basing this plea to us misguided neo-proggers on ONE song? Maybe you should try sampling some. Who knows, you may be a convert.
