Both. Tangerine Dream has released more albums than Kraftwerk. And Kraftwerk became more accessible after The man Machine album. TD remained true to their style and made more adventurous music than Kraftwerk. IMHO.

Tangerine Dream were always more progressive than Kraftwerk. Kraftwerk were often quite pop orientated.

When people get lost in thought it's often because it's unfamiliar territory.

I like them both, but voted for TD. More albums, and a better approach in every way. In fact, Kraftwerk is only good to me in their first 4 albums (well, I still enjoy the rest of their '70's stuff, but...)

Listen to Turkish psych/prog; you won't regret: Baris Manco,Erkin Koray,Cem Karaca,Mogollar,3 Hürel,Selda,Edip Akbayram,Fikret Kizilok,Ersen (and Dadaslar) (but stick with the '70's, and 'early 80's!)

I'm afraid I have nver heard anything remotely "progressive" from either of these artists - each to his own.

You cant compare TD with Kraftwerk,Kraftwerk sound was minimalistic, monotonious and cold ,the only track i find important of them is Autobahn simply for the historical importance and proggier sound.Tangerine Dream is the best electronic band of all time.

I don't know TD, but hope to soon, but his description of Kraftwerk is accurate (other than downplaying the greatness of the Autobahn song).

I only heard Autobahn once and I didn't like it at all. If I had to make a comparison from the first album I've heard from both bands I would go with Tangerine Dream (Tangram).

Both especially TD, as Bilek said Kraftwerk's first four LP's are better, also KW first 4 LPs are more Progressive compared to their latter Techno Pop music.

I don't believe there is a band called "Tangerine Drean (sic)." But if there were, they'd get my vote...

I just realised that I forgot Organisation LP... With it, that makes 5 albums !
and Techno Pop stuff: even before hearing their earlier albums, I bumped into Robots video in my mp3 disc and listened to Man Machine album... even then, I sensed a sort of progressiveness... That said, I believe KW makes the best of that sh*tty music called techno-pop !
