Topic: Comets on Fire Posted: November 23 2006 at 19:18 |
Comets on Fire are a modern space rock band in the vein of heavier acts like Hawkwind. They have influences in free jazz, psychedelia, and sludgy heavy rock like Blue Cheer and Black Sabbath. They're music often includes extended instrumental sections and dramatic mood/tempo changes, characteristics of progressive rock. They easily fit in the category of psychedelic/space rock and certainly belong in the Prog Archives.

Sounds interesting, I'll look this out (not as the band addmissions team).

They're definitely a worthy inclusion, though I can't say under what category.

Yeah, why not.
They are on the post-rock chart - I voted no, but only because they're not post-rock. Wouldn't mind seeing them somewhere else on this site.

I'll check them out, Wizard. At the momment one of our members of the team (Bilek) is having some technical dificulties with his computer and isn't with us for the momment, but maybe I can ask Eetu, our team leader, to see if we can add some bands without the approval of our third team member and add the band. If not then I guess we'll have to wait. Some samples would be nice since I haven't heard anything from this band.

Ooooh. Nice band. I would definetly like to see them here. I'll take to my other active team mate, Eetu, to see his thoughts on the band.

Go ahead. I'm still waiting for Bilek and Eetu's votes though. The same goes for NoSound.
