Topic: Porcupine Tree & Friends Posted: January 23 2007 at 17:05 |
Ok, the link is maybe tenuous, but Porcupine Tree are linked to the other three in various ways.
1) Steve Wilson has produced for Marillion, and admires the band
2) Rush admire PT, and Lifeson is going to guest on the new PT album
3) In their early years, PT were considered to sound a little like Pink Floyd (especially on the album 'The Sky Moves Sideways').
So, of these four, which is your favourite?

Porcupine Tree (my favorite band) followed by Pink Floyd (who I've started to listen to and am enjoying very much)

Porcupine Tree.
I have about equal respect for Rush, so what swung the vote is that I expect PT's upcoming album to be great ... while in the case of Rush .... unfortunately I'm not expecting much. Hopefully I'll be pleasantly surprised!

Had no idea Wilson produced Marillion...and I really did not think he would like them...
I picked Floyd anyways

I like all of these. Floyd and Tree are about a tie. If I hadn't found Tree, Floyd would be number one. Marillion comes next with Rush in last. I like Rush but have none in my CD collection.

| I think he helped produce Marillion.com and thought he may have had something to do with Marbles. As good as Wilson is, DotCom is probably my least favorite Marillion disc. E
