I picked Genesis who barely edged out KC. Genesis from 1971-1977 did more that was in a style I liked than KC, who after the first couple of albums, would tend to put one song per album that I would like - you know, The Night Watch, Starless, and Exiles for instance. Just a personal preference, and a slight one.

I think you got Exiles mixed up with Easy monet or something, because Exile has one of the worst vocal performances I have ever heard.

All the bands, except Rush, belong to the first wave of progressive rock, so why not count Gentle Giant, instead of Rush...?

No mistake. I just said it's the only song I liked...I didn't
comment on the vocal performance. I like the melody and the
fiddle
But if I had a gun to my head I would pick book of saturdays as second good song on that album

Rush have a very loyal fanbase and that says everything ,I`ll always go for Rush in these type polls I don`t think a prog band could be more successful or more acknowledged

There lies the problem, they arn't successful as a prog band but as a rock band!

King Crimson, but these aren't my big 7 at all. A band like Amon Düül 2 with at least 4 classic albums ("Phallus Dei", "Yeti", "Tanz der Lemminge" and "Wolf City") definitely belong into the big 7 for me, for example. But the least common denominator of course always supports the average rather than the exceptional.

| ejhm... Can (there'll be no post rock and indie rock and the else, etc,.). But off course, that thing about a BIg 7 is just rubish...

There lies the solution many mainstream bores find out about prog thanks to bands like Rush, Kansas & Floyd ... In my opinion Rush are progressive in many ways not just the music
