I may not care about the Cards very much, but I  Rick Ankiel. He spent a year as a fairly dominant pitcher (almost 10 K/9!), and now he's one of the premiere outfielders of the league. What an athlete!

Royals give up 2 grand slams against the Red Sox and get swept. Royals are better this year; but, they are still worlds apart from teams like Boston.

YANKS WIN! And in a pitchers duel??
Tied 1-1 all game long when Robinson Cano who has been hitting like crap comes in 9th inning, 2 outs and wins it. What a game.

Funny how the Tigers had their most dominating series of the year (at least since their Texas series) at the same time that the Royals had their worst series of the year. And yet if they had played each other, recent history shows that they Royals would have kicked the Tigers butts.
Hopefully, Leyland's ass-chewing on Monday has finally woke up the monsterous offense, but I fear that it was as much about an anemic Mariners pitching staff as it was the Tigers' bats. Big series this weekend with the Twins. The Tigers have really struggled against the Central Division this year (case in point: see Royals reference above). I'm definitely hoping for a sweep so that they can get on a roll, get back to .500, and work their way up to the top of the division.

Well, we have another 4 game series in Toronto that I'm not feeling too good about. Thing is, Sox crushed two grand slams, yet only won by 3! What the #$@!? E

 do I need to dig up my quote ..from last season hahah on the state of the Yankees.. because it sure hasn't changed brother... scoring 13 runs against sh*tty pitching MIGHT get them in the playoffs.. what happens when good pitching shuts them down. .as happens every year... and good bats get a look at a 2nd rate pitching staff .. was boycotting this thread until my beloved Tigers pull their heads out of their asses... what a disaster this season has been.

Yea, I know the Yanks are always ALL offense which makes up for their mediocre pitching, which will inevitably cause them to die in the playoffs... But I can be optimistic can't I?????? Besides they are working Joba Chamberlain into the starter spot eventually, and IF their 2 other young pitchers develop it'll be a beastly lineup. I hope

As I suspected, and the Yankees and Tigers proved last night. It was the Mariners pitching moreso than the Tigers' bats that caused the Tigers outpouring against the Mariners this week. Who the hell is Kevin Slowey and why the hell did the Tigers make him look like Randy Johnson???? 0 runs in 6 innings against a guy with no wins this year and an ERA over 5 coming into the game. At least Sheffield finally hit a home run. I'm taking tonight off to go to the Wings game, but will be back out their rooting for them tomorrow afternoon. Hopefully, with better results.

Dammit, the shortstops on my fantasy team are taking a beating. J.J. Hardy has done badly, Erick Aybar only did well for a short time. And now Clint Barmes and Jeff Keppinger are both hurt. I think I'll just leave the spot empty since the available shortstops all suck....

Detroit 19 Minnesota 3. Were you there when? Of course not, I was there when Minnesota beat Detroit 9-4 and I'll be there again tomorrow when the Tigers probably get shut out, since that seems to be the norm in games following a team scoring double digit victories. The team scores way more runs then they need in game 1, then follow up the next day without being able to buy a run.

Isn't that the way it is? Torre's Dodgers have only scored 1 run in 18 innings against the Cardinals. They're making the Cards pitching staff look like Cy Young award winners.

yeah.. those Mariners are a real powerhouse just wait till they face the Rays again. and real pitching. .and some of the the best new talent in the league.. they'll be back to scraping up 2 runs a game hahhahha
