Well, I love Porcupine tree five thousand times more than Dream Theater....
but, I will admit that Train of thought is one of the greatest prog metal albums to date, more complete than any other pt album!
I still vote pt

Not fond of either of them, but as far as prog-metal goes, of course DT is much better band. And I would choose DT over PT overall.

I was not aware that Porcupine Tree is a prog-metal band...
Anyway, PT over DT anyday, even if DT have more than surprised me with their excellent Systematic Chaos album.

i'd say Porcupine Tree. they pay much more attention to the feeling than to the technique, if you know what I mean. On the other hand, if you are a really good guitarist you would again prefer Porcupine tree because their riffs CAN be played.

A very easy poll to vote in.
I am a big PT fan, and I don't much like DT, so, though PT aren't really prog metal, they still get my vote.

Don't like recent DT albums, but have never liked PT, so I guess DT wins.

I have not read all the posts yet, but to me they are two way different bands. I can't vote because each fullfills a different mood I may be in for their particular style of music. I totally enjoy them both!
