I'll go with AFTK, due to the title track, my Rush favorite Xanadu and the otherworldly Cygnus X-1.

Lol you sound like your whole reviewing prowess is on the line if people don't agree that Hemisphere's is the better album.

I went with AFTK because like others, Xanadu. I also love the title track. What really does it for me is the CD I burned with the Cygnii back to back. Listening to it straight thru rocks.

I agree that Hemispheres is better by a very long country mile but for me the real "turds" on AFTK are Cygnus Book One and Madrigal. The title track starts out nice but I can't stand the chorus. Closer to the Heart is non-offensive but ultimately not that interesting. Cinderella Man has some nice sections in it... That leaves us with Xanadu, which I've never personally considered a top ten or even top twenty Rush song, but it is by far the best thing on this album. Hemispheres, on the other hand, I consider pretty much perfect from start to finish. In fact, I feel like listening to it right now! |

A Farewell To Kings, for better balance between the tracks - but it's by a split of a hair, because I like both albums a lot.

I read your previous thread about being tired of prog and thought that's not good but people change. After reading this post however, I must say I think that your problem is very serious. Not wanting to hear AFTK or Hemispheres has put you in critical condition.

Farewell has 2 week songs closer to the heart and ciderella man
and Hermpheres has none, but I like Farewell better.
xanadu, Cygnus x-I book 1 made a rush instand hardcore fan.
I also loved Th Tree and la villa. 2 brilliant albums.

Good call my friend. GUP and HYF are both totally underrated albums; HYF is my favourite.

They are almost like a double album together, especially with the Cygnus X1 trilogy. The Hemispheres suite along with "La Villa Strangiato" and "The Trees" give it the edge over AFTK. |
