Bought a PAL regional DVD player.
Also recently picked up THE CURE's TRILOGY, which is a live concert in Berlin where they play albums (Pornography, Disintegration and Bloodflowers) all in their entirety.

^^ also Audun. The Bitches Brew is one of my favourite pure Jazz albums.
Not many i can tolerate but that Miles Davis record is great. :)

I've already listened to it twice, and you're right, Nick, it is indeed great!

Wouldn't call it pure jazz though, more like fusion.

Well, pure in the sense where it contains an above and beyond Jazzy feel to it...more than I am used I guess, but otherwise I believe you are right. More fusion than anything else...well maybe with a side of awesome as well. :)

Glad you like it. Think you'll like 'A Kind Of BLue' as well. :)

Hey you guys!
If you like that Miles album you need to go check out Big Fun as well. I prefer it over BB and it's basically recordings from the same period, only with an added psych twist to it much credited to the Indian instrumentation.

I have the Legacy Edition (3 disc set) of KoB, and I do like it, but it's a bit too, what did you say, Nick, pure jazz, for me.

Come to think of it, I don't think I've seen the DVD (disc 3) yet. I'll put in on my to do list.

I've got Big Fun as well, David. Think I prefer BB to it actually.

Blasphemy!!!

Nah...LOL I may be in the minority on that one. Love Big Fun - may even be my fave Miles album.

No, I'm the minority here, I seem to like his pure jazz albums better than the fusion ones Embarrassed

Bitches Brew, A Tribute To Jack Johnson and On The Corner are my favourites, I think, and probably in that order too.

I love those too, but I tend to listen to them differently or with different ears if you will. They seek something else in the music. I gather it's down to my daily tastes.

I agree with him. I find it way more jazz than fusion. In fact, I wouldn't call it fusion/rock influenced at all.
