Just wanted to bump this to say:

Corima and Unit Wail (both recently released by SZ) are fantastic. The first a rather glorious hybrid of Magma (in the calmer parts) and Koenjihyakkei (in the frantic bits) with enough to differentiate from the mother bands (though the first song suite Corima Iss De Hundin is very Magma-esque, which is probably not surprising given the title). Unit Wail much more avant-prog than Zeuhl but an excellent in this modern take with some great guitar from F. Fromey.

Both very likely to make my top 10 list at the end of the year.

Pretty much echoes my assessment of the latest Soleil Zeuhl releases.

While the improved sound quality on Dun was welcome and the Strave & Scherzoo releases were as good as I expected them to be, the Corima & Unit Wail are the ones that have made an immediate impression. Your summaries above are spot on.

Both will certainly be in my top 10 list for year end.

^ Thumbs Up

I also have the Strave album, which I do enjoy but not as much as the others. I don't have Scherzoo yet, but I will hopefully get it by years end.

Teaser for the new (live!) Yugen album which is now released but not yet on Wayside (I'm keeping my eyes open for it):

Sounds good to me! Big smile

The quality is insane for a live album.

I have them all.  My favorite is the Corima and the Dun (I'd never actually heard that one before).  The Strave comes in a close third.  But the Unit Wail and the Scherzoo are also excellent.  All in all, a great batch of music.  Will be looking forward to their next releases.
I can understand your anger at me, but what did the horse I rode in on ever do to you?

The more I listen to Corima the more insanely awesome it becomes. #1 from 2012 right now and I can't see another taking it spot at this moment.

Also, just ordered the Scherzoo which I'm looking forward to hearing. And I hope their next batch comes soon!

Dagmar does not sing on Unrest.

True, and Unrest is the best HC. Wink
