VdG!

I neglect this album far too much.  I must listen to it more!

Cat's Eyes/Yellow Fever (Running) is excellent though.

Saw Focus over a year ago, they were indeed great. The guitar player is really good.

Julian Barrett is a jazz rock/prog fan, he was in Record Collector with the other one Noel Fielding. Julian was saying how much he still loved old Zappa and Yes albums.

As for that three-way gig? The Groundhogs were alright (though McPhee's electric playing has really declined over the years IMHO), Martin Turner's Wishbone Ash were like a tribute band IMHO and Focus were great, save a drum solo.

Hate to say this, but  the last three out of 4 gigs I saw were by Alan Holdsworth - but by three separate line-ups over 16 months. Interesting to observe that Julian Barrett one half of the Mighty Boosh was at two of these! The other was by Metheny & Mehldau, which didn't impress me

I like the arrangements here - band members took their own requests in  so their are more in possession- the vocalist take time to accommodate

Absolutely - he always plays superbly - but I wish the bugger was happy in his supreme musicianship and bloody smile when with fans. Although Jimmy Johnson was named on our tickets somebody else filled in and was fine
