If?
IMHO the best British brass rock band and quite different from Chicago or BST - most of the players came out of the 60's jazz boom in the UK.
The best eclectic music on the Web,8-11pm BST/GMT THURS.

As for Chicago, I only have the first two. Never braved beyond that, and I'm definitely not buying those 80s albums!

One of the vocalists in Tower Of Power - which makes it a good fusion of brass rock and brass funk

This track always cheers me up, it's just so silly, yet so clever too.  Plus the keyboards sound so otherworldly.

Martin Turner's Wishbone Ash have just remade this album, from what I gather it's a note-for-note remake! I saw them on the same bill as Focus, they sounded like a tribute band IMHO, proficient but bloodless. They went down well with the crowd though.

I like Jailbreak too.  Great twin guitar sound.  Their Old Grey Whistle Test version of it is even better still.

There are now two Wishbone Ashes! Wishbone Ash- led by Andy Powell- and Martin Turner's Wishbone Ash. There was also recently a furore on Martin Turner's site concerning a reunion of the original four members, with allegations that Andy Powell had been touting the tour without the other three agreeing to it. I don't think they'd be playing much bigger venues than they do now; their reputation is largely based on those first three great albums.
