It's punk isn't; is Hammill imitating Johnnie Rotten or was it vice versa????

Haven't had a decent read about music/musicans for over a year so will look out for this. Trying to read all the Rebus detective novels,  but can't find them all. BTW have you read Jon Savage's England's Dreamin' about the British punk movements - it's well written and researched?

Aapatsos and Alucard - your presence was most welcome last night and with the minor changes made to the shows's format, I felt  pretty good with the way the show went. I wish however,  I could attract more people at PA to listen and in particular to "chat" during the show. I also wonder what happened to the the 10 or so regular who dropped in to converse and make requests 2 or 3 years ago. Any advice on boosting these number would be appreciated.

Richard, I was thinking exactly the same thing last week. It is strange because with so many members on the site that go through the forum, I guess most of them have seen this thread appearing.

I was wondering what would be the best way to advertise this more...Ermm. I will let you know of any ideas - at the moment nothing ''sparkles''

Now then, a recommendation from me for your show (not a request - just a recommendation)

Since you have embodied a few Middle-Eastern sounds, you might be interested in Orphaned Land's Mabool.
I doubt you will enjoy the whole album as it is mainly atmospheric metal (a bit growling etc) but if you have the chance listen to the tracks A'Salk and Building the Ark (from the album Mabool, 2004). Mainly the second track, which is a bit longer, might be an interesting inclusion, completely ''relaxed'' eastern tracks.

Building The Arc is not listed at Amazon.uk for  download

will listen in next week, Dick, wish i'd remembered your show was on last Thursday as there was sod all on the telly - though i happily entertained myself by playing through my collection of 50's and 60's Rock'n'roll 45's ...though i only got up to 1959..Cool

as for publicity for the show, a banner on the PA home page would help...?  Smile

I'm required by my radio station  to have a reasonably high proportion of jazz/jazz fusion - and Jeff Beck across the show supplies a few of those. Otherwise, some student interest in Jeff Beck  - so inclined to go back to shows that have some theme e.g. completely violin or featuring (in part) a band or musician's music. Then no Beck for months following..
