A highly energetic group from New Jersey, with inventive and creative melodies, experimental in sound and nature and definitely progressive.

Awesome music!

listening

Big smile  they certainly live up to their name, and more complex than at first hear  ..unsure, maybe we'll hear from others, the more I listen the more I think they probably deserve to be here, only got two cuts but I suspect it represents the gist of their work (didn't check the vids)..  Zappa?  Solution Science Systems?  David Bagsby?

Maybe Avant, though it isn't really that avant... it it very creative and reminds in spirit of the Cardiacs (not sound, just spirit, if you get my meaning).
I received their album as a promo and listening to it right now. That's one hell of an album. Immediate click with me. Love it! Directly to the top of 2008 (another one... so many good albums this year).

Interesting band...dunno where I'd place 'em, but there's enough of an experimental in their writing for sure (and I dig the Doorsy organ). No matter what, I sense the next band to be added to the Moody Noobs friends list!

Hey, whatever happened to this? Was the association with the Noobs really so damning?

Good question.
Once it's approved I can add it quickly (and also add my review for their album, already posted it on other websites).
Right now I'd say eclectic would be the best fit. Avant would be a second choice. But that's just me.

I'll try and check these guys out soon, but if Eclectic really likes them...well, seems like you lot think that's the best place for them, so no worries.

Pat, if you think they might be good for Avant it doesn't matter to me

Sorry for the delay in Eclectic making a decision.  For Eclectic, I was unsure, Moris was a definite yes, and Rico was undecided leaning towards no.  It's a bit difficult to judge based on those two tracks (there are the vids too).  I've listened again and am uncomfortable voting yes based just on those.
Also, since it was suggested for more than one team, and being unsure myself, I wanted to see how other's felt.  David, what was your team's consensus?

I don't find it heavy, really, either.  It does have similarities to some acts we've included in Eclectic (and those tended not to be unanimous "for"s), but this just doesn't come across as so "Eclectic" to me.  I'm going to recheck the videos later on tonight, and music again without distraction, and really try to break the music down.

Samples available here: http://www.emusic.com/album/Fun-Machine-Sonnenhuhn-MP3-Download/11318927.html
...and if anyone subscribes to emusic the album can be grabbed from there it seems.

I'll see tonight after work if I can "arrange" that.
