I am new to this forum, but not new to Progressive music. I'll give you a list of some of the bands I love:

Pink Floyd
Spock's Beard
Pain of Salvation
Jethro Tull
King Crimson
Porcupine Tree
Yes
Genesis (Gabriel era)

Don't let King By-Tor fool you, he meant to say you'd be someone "he'd enjoy to kick around".  Wink  On second thought, I'd think that he'd rather that you kick him around like the rest of us. LOL

new to this site as well, looking forward to possibly discovering some new bands....
 
 
too many favorites to list but love progressive metal and the classic prog bands, will list a few just to get started

Prog Archives is a great tool to find hundreds of bands that you would have thought never exited. You start with the big bands (PTree, Tool, Genisis, Spock's Beard etc.) and you dive deeper and explore the vast world of prog.
