Hi folks! Bear with me, new at this despite my advancing years. I've been browsing the site for sometime now and just decided to say how good it is, I've found some new stuff to listen to, always a good thing.
Favourite bands include Hawkwind, Amon Duul (1,2 & UK versions) Faust, Neu! Grobschnitt, Tangerine Dream, Electric Orange, Chrome, Helios Creed, The Residents, Heldon/Richard Pinhas, Harmonia, and many, many other solo artists, mostly Krautrock and Prog Electronic.
The last time I did a search for stuff Chrome or Helios Creed related came up 0, why?

Welcome!
You surely have a pretty advanced taste! Good for you man! Not sure of the bands you are asking, but have you tried switching the date to 'Any Date' in the search function? If there's still any, you might want to create a thread about them, and hopefully find some replies. Cheers! |

Didn't John Lennon say he could make a guitar cry? Helios Creed could make a guitar scream for mercy and beg for forgivness. Along with Damon Edge for the last couple of years in the '70's and into the '80's they were the machine-space-rock outfit Chrome. Helios is still out there (very out there in fact) doing stuff, Damon died in the '90's. Helios has played with Nik Turner's Space Ritua, made up with members of Pressurehed, on tour in the States. As far as I know, Helios is not well and won't leave the States, so a tour of th UK is out.

Hello Krautrocker,
If it's a new band you want to suggest for addition in PA, then just post a new thread in this section: Suggest New Bands and Artists And if you have any sources/references/online-samples that you know of, include it there. And welcome to PA! |

Just on a side note: Helios Creed also played on a few albums of Hawkwind sax-player Nik Turner, for example the second version of his "Xitintoday" album, which has the same lyrics as the first one, but completely different music; not even the basis of any composition remained the same. I personally would give the first version five stars and the sceond four; the first version was absolute magic, the second very good, but the magic is not there.

Thank you folks, now the question is are Chrome or Helios Creed prog or not? Views please. I read a post from way back regarding the status of Radio Massacre International, now I know they are prog, English Prog at it's very best! |

Both Chrome and Helios Creed are on the "to do" list for the psychedelic/Space rock team in terms of evaluation - I'll try to speed up that process slightly ;-)

Hi Krautrocker and welcome from a massive Hawkwind/Amon Duul fan.
I'm like you in that I grew up on the stuff and still love it. My other faves in that ilk are Nektar Man and the Pink Fairies.
I'm ancient and really enjoy the site - hope you do to.

It's not that I can't find worth in anything, it's just that I can't find worth in enough.
