My favorite band of all time were Deep Purple Mk2 but I really hate the term of heavy metal being tagged onto them. I call them more Heavy Rock but then i suppose its only words.

I don't know about Zep being a "metal" band, but they get my vote.

I don't see Praxis or Buckethead anywhere. By the way, Led Zeppelin, Joe Satriani, Nirvana and Guns 'n Roses amongst others, is not metal.
