DT polls are a waste of time, except for fan boys.

The Glass Prison gets my vote. The songs get less good as the suite goes on for me. However, I do think the first two are great songs, the third a very good one, and the fourth is a pretty good one. I don't like The Shattered Fortress.

Portnoy's ego is now self-indulgent. Next phase, his self-indulgence will be self-indulgent. And where will it go from there? Can the narcissism become so extreme? He will make Ziltoid look humble. Buhahahahaha!!!!
Webster has an update to one of its words:
vainglory 1. excessive elation or pride over one's own achievements, abilities, etc.; boastful vanity. 2. empty pomp or show. 3. see Mike Portnoy.

I'm not even a very big fan of Dream Theater (and how many DT polls have we had in the past month? ) but I gotta say Root of All Evil.

The Glass Prison and The Root of all Evil are great songs. Can't stand the rest.
Hard choice between the two but I'll go Glass Prison.

This Dying Soul is my favourite despite the overlong shredding session towards the end. It introduces many great riffs and melodies.

In between TGP, TDS, and TSF. TGP used to be my favorite DT song, but I'll give a vote to Fortress. TGP has enough votes as it is.

The Root of all Evil, by 76719 miles, followed by The Shattered Fortress and This dying Soul...
repentance is incredibly boring and glass prison incredibly horrible... can't believe it's winning.

Grr, all of them are great. The only one I like slightly less is Repentance.
Bah, I'll go for Shattered Fortress. Has the best of all of them.

The Glass Prison is the only good song in that list, but it's a very good one at least!

Wow, no love for repentance...not so anymore!
I LOVE that song--one time where DT really set up some atmospherics and build into something powerful.
Ironically, that's the only one I really like of the series...maybe that's more a function of my DT preferences :)

Thank you, God of Rock, for this chance to kick ass

I agree with you. Repentance is one of the better songs in the AA Suite. There's a small gap between the best three songs IMO (The Shattered Fortress, Root of All Evil, Repentance) but then there is a HUGE gap between the remaining two. I love Repentance. An excellent, highly underrated song.
