They release their new cd the end of this month.

Just snippets but it sounds like they have achieved mixed results to my ears.

I loved "The Art of" and liked "Paramount" though felt it was not as consistently to my liking.

Any opinions on these audio samples. http://www.myspace.com/subsignalband

I've an opinion as to why members find it impossible to follow forum etiquette and post in the correct forum.

Pretty rude for an admin and moderator.

Silly me, obviously it should go in Prog Bands, Artists and Genres Appreciation  how unreasonable of me to put it in the general prog forum.Thumbs Down

^Well you've been here long enough to work out where threads should go.

I havnt checked the link but I think this is the Arn Menses/Marcus Stefan project and, as much as I think Stefan was important to SE's best work, it was always the Holzwarth brothers that were the genious behind the band. So I'll approach this with caution.

^ Agreed, it has always been the Holzwarth brothers - Marcus Steffen was also an important member but third in line...

Really? It seems to me that Marcus Steffen was the real driving force behind that band... I remember reading in some interview with one of the Holzwarts that they wouldn't have continued if they wouldn't have gotten him back

No, definitely the Holzwarth brothers as their music has always been rhythm led, particularly by Olivers bass. Stefan was the guitarist that worked best with Sieges Even during the first two periods so it makes sense to work want to work with him again.

This is VERY nice! I was never a huge fan of Sieges Even, but really enjoy this.

YEAH! damn!

i loved Sieges Even and especially Arnos voice so im too glad that i just found out they keep on making music!

the samples on myspace really make me looking forward to this album, because it seems to have the same style like TAONBTS and Paramount.

nice, nice, nice!  Big smile

edit: are they still performing Sieges Even material? because on myspace there is a live version of subsignal performing a sieges even song.. that would be too nice for the fact, that they will probably play near to me Wink

Sieges Even never did anything for me. In my opinion, this is far more progressive than SE. Of course, I've only heard the last two SE discs...but never cared for them.

This could be my disc of the year. Certainly up there.

Dude, I'm not arguing. I added the little emoticons at the end just like you did.

If you're going to dish it out, please be prepared to take it. I'm not mad in the least.

I wasn't arguing either.  I was merely pointing out how futile it is to go back and forth about opinions.... that is arguing in a sense.  don't argue with my argument....  Smile

Jeez, that whole interaction went right over your head....  I think you might be reacting a little too sensitively.

When you start a post with . . .

you invite the ire of not only the original poster but the rest of us as well.  Frankly, making disparaging remarks about someone else's opinion then falling back to 'well it's stupid to argue about opinions, stop arguing about my argument' is really immature in the first place.

Seriously Avalanche, if you feel like taking a more mature route than you've gone so far, I'd consider either apologizing for the lack of tolerance that you have towards other people's opinions or at the least let it drop.
