I guess it's now 'winner takes all' re the Barca v Atletico title decider. What happens if Barca wins and both teams finish level on 89 points i.e. do Barca win the title by virtue of superior goal difference or do they use head to head results in Spain?

If Barca wins and both teams finish level at 90 points the decider is goal average between them, before absolute goal average. In that case, Barca would be champion (and it’s their only chance, they have to win) because in the first game they tied 0-0, and now any victory would give Barca the lead in results between them. That’s why Real Madrid could never have been champ in the case of a triple tie in points, because they had negative averages against both Barca and Atletico.

Oh man I will be suffering tomorrow. Last Sunday I almost collapsed of heart exhaustion or something while all three teams were playing at the same time and Barca failed to score and atletico missed a chance in the very last minute. Tomorrow is another blood-pressure-killing day

We both have to try to be strong and be happy to acknowledge that if our teams win OR lose, both of us will be weeping like big girly pussies and getting hammered on (insert beverage of your choice)Thumbs Up

BTW Ain't it weird, tears of joy and tears of sadness: the same output for different inputs (go figure)

Don't Arsenal just love putting their long suffering fans through even more suffering to finally lift a jug after 9 years? The most ironic thing about their deserved but tortuous victory was just how poor Hull City were despite taking a two goal lead (the Tigers will play a lot better and still lose) To be fair to Steve Bruce and his players, the corner that led to the Gooners equaliser was awarded in error. Anyways, I'm delighted for Arsene Wenger and I've just got a feeling he might decide this is a perfect opportunity to either retire, move upstairs or find a new challenge overseas? Watch this space...BeerHandshake

The T - I feel your pain but at least Los Merengues didn't win the title. You can look forward to savouring that dish best served cold when Atleti whip their sorry asses in the Champions League FinalEvil Smile

St Johnstone surprised a few people by defeating Dundee Utd in the Scottish Cup Final Shocked(Nice to see the silverware going to a club outside the bigoted sectarian duopoly a.k.a. the Old Firm for a change)

Well the duopoly is null since Rangers financial shenanigans

But Real fans hate the title going to Athletico or Barca? I mean the real Real fans from Madrid.

Hull were really very poor after those two early goals but Arsenal made hard work of it as usual

Wow what a Champions League Final, Athletico nearly held on for the win but were spent in extra time

^ I can't help but feel for Atleti who would have deserved the win in normal time. Mourinho got one thing right while he was at the Bernabeu - he identified Casillas as a liability. Ugly scenes at the end we could all have lived without (did Varane thump the ball deliberately at the Atleti bench and if not, why else was he booked AFTER the final whistle?) Real were certainly the only side who looked like winning in extra time. Funny thing is that despite the decima and all the resultant hoopla, no-one will probably remember how truly innefectual Atleti made Ronaldo and Bale look during the game before fatigue got the better of them

Bale had a few half chances he didn't finish well but they totally neutralize Ronaldo, who does like to show us his six-pack after he scores.

^ Yep, a totally self indulgent celebration which does not show his joy at scoring for his team, but only his joy at being Cristiano Ronaldo

Today was such a bad day from a football point of view. A complete tragedy.

2 minutes too long, and no "Decima" would have happened....

And celebrating the 4th goal when you haven't done sh*t like you are THE reason your team won, man, narcissism at its worst.

Hell if I had Ronaldo's life I wouldn't care either. He's got it pretty sweet.

And he comes home to this every night

He comes home to www.Piximus.Net every night?  Can't say I'm that jealous really. Wink

I was glad to see Real win as they did most of the pressing and Atletico were just trying to grind out the result having been gifted their goal by Casillas. Ronaldo was certainly a posturing pillock with his showboating celebration for the meaningless fourth goal. He was ineffective on the night but did score 16 goals on the way to the final.
