Hi, just registered on the site and interested in discovering new prog bands to  absorb!

I'm a big Genesis fan (esp. Gabriel era of course) and have dabbled with Floyd, Yes, Rush, King Crimson and ELP.  Really want to broaden my prog horizons and hoping to pick up some tips on where to go to do so Smile

Also play keyboards in a rock band in my native Derby so especially interested in bands that have good keys

Happy to be here and looking forward to it!

Cheers!
Broton

A very warm welcome to the siteHug
There's a great german band called 'Anyones Daughter' who have a very similar sound to Genesis, 'Adonis' is probably their best album. You seem to have listened to most of the major prog bands so I would recommend some 'Gentle Gaint' 'Gong' and 'Caravan' to further your prog horizens. You said you like keyboard driven prog so I would recommend the german band 'Triumvirate', who sound a lot like E.L.P., and the very underrated British prog band 'Egg' for some great keyboard led prog.
There's so much more great music for you to discover here, look around at the various sub genres here to find out about countless great artists. I hope you enjoy your stay hereThumbs Up

Welcome to PA Broton. Being a prog fogey I can recommend loads of old bands with great keys especially Greenslade, Colosseum, Argent, Atomic Rooster, Focus, Brian Auger Trinity, Deep  Purple, Van der Graaf Generator.

If you get the chance check out the obscure but excellent UK band Bram Stoker who have an excellent Emerson-like keyboardist.

I'm not sure if you are familiar with Erik Norlander or not but he is a modern keyboardist who plays in a similar vein as Wakeman and Emerson.  He has a few solo albums and he is also the keyboardist for the band Rocket Scientists as well as for his wife Lana Lane.

Well...you probably won't love all of it, but I'm willing to bet you'll love a lot of it, like some more, and hate at least a small fraction. LOL

That seems likely - prog is a surprisingly broad genre. (I still haven't even listened to all the subgenres Embarrassed)
