^ well I think THE HUMAN EQUATION is a great choice mr. A.C.R. Do you have a favourite section in the album? I know that may be a tough question. For me personally, I gotta go with TRAUMA which I believe is day 12. It's hauntingly brilliant.

I thought it was two different rules, but, as it turns out, they can be interpreted as one.

Thats a tough one but I think the first official prog' album, practically speaking, and probably my fave is IN THE COURT OF THE CRIMSON KING.(In theory the first prog' album may be VANILLA Fudge's 1st.I would dare to say that DAVE BRUBECK -TAKE FIVE might even be thee first...if you don't believe that then ask Keith Emerson why the NICE covered Blue Rondo ala turk ; )
ITCCK is a diverse mix of folk, warped blues,proto-metal and jazz. The classic line-up of Fripp,Giles,Lake,McDonald and Sinfield were a line-up like no other. Each was a outstanding craftsman in his own right. The production even on the remaster doesn't take away from the warmth and overall symphonic elegance this cd exudes. After McDonald and Lake left they struggled a bit but even during those periods continued to churn out seminal works.

^ Your choice of Hemispheres by Rush on pp. 21 & 23 has been sealed.
Scott, do you keep track of who made a choice or not?

Only a single review for English Electric doesn't rate it with 5 stars. That makes me a bit skeptical, I must say.

| I was looking at that too! Wow. This album is getting some serious high praise (English Electric). Can't be overlooked. Guess that album is worth a spin. I'm really curious to see what kind of sound BIG BIG TRAIN really embodies.

Previously on Burn Notice ... err ... previously on Name Your #1 Prog Masterpiece.
MULTIPLE CHOICES… 9 OR MORE VOTES - THE QUINTESSENTIAL LEGENDS OF PROG Close to the Edge – YES (17 votes!)
The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway – GENESIS (16 votes!) Thick as a Brick – JETHRO TULL (14 votes!) Foxtrot – GENESIS (10 votes!) Animals - PINK FLOYD (10 votes!) Tales from Topographic Oceans – YES (9 votes!) Dark Side of the Moon – PINK FLOYD (9 votes!) Relayer – YES (9 votes!)
And now ... on Name Your #1 Prog Masterpiece ... (after all the calculations):
MULTIPLE CHOICES… 9 OR MORE VOTES - THE QUINTESSENTIAL LEGENDS OF PROG Close to the Edge – YES (20 votes!) The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway – GENESIS (16 votes!) Thick as a Brick – JETHRO TULL (15 votes!) Foxtrot – GENESIS (11 votes!) Animals - PINK FLOYD (10 votes!) In the Court of the Crimson King – KING CRIMSON (9 votes!) Tales from Topographic Oceans – YES (9 votes!) Dark Side of the Moon – PINK FLOYD (9 votes!) Relayer – YES (9 votes!)
Just in case, the calculations were:

I know this is a very stereotypical response, but In The Court. No matter how much other music I find I don't think anything will ever top the magic and perfection of KC's debut.
