Ok, we have a topic about best crescendo, meaning getting louder. What about best accelerando, meaning getting faster? And I don't mean artificial accelerando via a studio trick, I mean one that was really played that way, best in a live concert.

The live version of Starship Trooper(Wurm) on Keys To Ascension is a wonderfully over-the-top accelerando.
Black Rose by Thin Lizzy......Gary Moore's finest hour.

best accelerando: king crimson  - the end of 21st century schizoid man (I always thought that it approches the pat metheny's song X style)

best DECELERANDO: neil peart's drum solo on all the world's a stage

I thought of that, too. But it is not a real accelerando, because the tempo of the song stays the same, just the drums accelerate (8ths, 8ths triplets, 16ths, 16ths triples, ... at least that's the idea).

Or is that an accelerando as well?

I know some accelerandos, but can't remember the songs. I'll post them as soon as I remember.

yes, it is an accelerando: the tempo increases its speed: listen to it again
