Cardiacs are a band I feel like I should like, but for some reason don't. Their sound (re: his voice) really grates on me after a couple songs.
Magma on the other hand...
I tend to agree with this sentiment, the vocals are a huge turn off for me, I dislike them greatly. I really don't find the music interesting enough to endure those vocals either. The Cardiacs are not a terrible band by any means, but they're not one that I reach for very often at all.

Thats just creepy and stupidly chaotic - Not for me if thats any indication....
It's a good indication of their early stuff but their later albums (including the much lauded Sing to God) is a very VERY different kettle of fish. This video is a perfect example of their more sober, less frenetic side:
I adore both of these bands and couldn't imagine living without either, but My Loyalty Demands. Cardiacs it is.

Magma. I can understand why people love the Cardiacs so much, but they've never done it for me (even though Guapo axeman Kavus Torabi is in the current touring line up).

Not true, he's stated in an interview that the Cardiacs are never touring again (due to Tim's health, I assume).
